OU vs Missouri - Pick the Score Contest
Well it may have only been Maine, but after breaking the losing streak and getting back in the win column, the sky is brighter, the air is fresher, and everything seems more right with the world! And it sure didn't hurt that I got to take my 4 1/2 yo grandson to his first Sooner game (as well as several other family members). You can call me soft if you want, but I was super happy that they moved up the kickoff and we enjoyed the game and got back to my daughters house before the rain came pouring down.
Speaking of pouring down, it was good to finally see explosive plays finally come pouring down for the offense. My Pick'em tag team partner SoonerLynx also came pouring down with his prediction of a 49-7 Sooner victory, which was closest to the final score of 59-14, making him this week's winner. Congratulations SoonerLynx!!!
Game #10 takes the Sooners on the road to an old Big12 foe. It sure looks to me like the game in Columbia is our best bet to get that bowl clinching 6th win and all the benefits that brings. It won't be easy, but it feels like the offense has made some legitimate positive strides since JJF took over. The running game finally seems to have some momentum and Jackson Arnold seems more settled. I haven't heard whether Mizzou's starting QB is supposed to be back from injury, but based on the Sooner's luck this year I fully expect him to play. In the end, it will only make the victory that much sweeter!
Sooners win! Sooners win! Sooners win!

Mizzou’s QB is questionable. OU’s offensive tackles are either out or questionable. Good chance the game will be played on a wet field. So I am picking a low scoring game.
Oklahoma 16
Missouri 7
Which probably means the final score will actually be 45-41 or some such.

Well, a lot has happened since last week. Our best running back, Barnes, is now out with an injury, and Sawchuk is "questionable"--which in coachspeak really means he's 'out'. But we did get two WR's back among the living in Burks and Farooq. I don't know if they will be able to play like they have in the past, but at least they'll be on the field and we'll have a shot. Also, Missou lost their starting QB so they'll be playing with their back-up. If our defense can get pressure on him all day long, that would certainly help our cause. Our O-Line has been playing together in the same positions for a couple of games now so hopefully they are starting to gel and figure things out. While this is a golden opportunity for all the freshmen RBs to shine, I also look for a lot of QB run plays---either called QB keepers or some option plays that can utilize his 'dual threat'.
So all-in-all, I'm a little more optimistic this week.
OU 31
MU 17
