Sooner Baseball - Hosting UT-Arlington for a Tuesday Game at LDM

The Oklahoma Sooner Baseball Team (17-14) will host AT-Arlington (14-18) tonight in a 6:30 PM game. The game can be watched via SoonerVision on ESPN+ and heard locally in Oklahoma on SportsTalk 1400 AM/99.3 FM or nationwide on The Varsity app. Chad McKee and Rich Hills will be on the TV call, while Toby Rowland will be on the OU radio call. The Sooners defeated the Mustangs of AT-Arlington 5-1 earlier in the year in Arlington. Here is the Sooner staff writers article about the game tonight.

The Oklahoma Sooners held on to win their game last night against UT-Arlington by the score of 11 -9. Oklahoma hit their way to a 9-0 lead through 3 innings before UT-Arlington ralliee back to close the gap to 9-4 in the top of the 7th. Oklahoma countered back with 2 runs to lead 11-3 in the bottom of the 7th. The Mavericks of UT-Arlington then scored 5 runs in the top of the 9th to cause the Sooners use three pitchers (3 of 11 pitchers used) to complete the final inning.

The Sooners offense was on point last night as they were 13 of 34 and 11 runs with 2 doubles an 1 triple with 2 sac, 1 SFLY, 3 SB and 1 HBP. The offensive leaders were Mackenzie (3 of 4, 2 RBIs), Carmichael (2 of 4, 2 RBIs), Isiah Lane (3 of 4) and Willits with 3 RBIs.

Atwood, Carsten and Reid all pitched well for the Sooners. Lambert picked up the Win with Girton ending the game with a save.

OU is back in action this weekend as the Sooners return to conference play to host Kansas State (20-10, 7-5 Big 12). Friday's first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. CT before a 4 p.m. start Saturday and 2 p.m. finale on Sunday.
