Oklahoma Sooner Women's Golf- Jimmie Austin Match Play: Mon, Tue

The Oklahoma Sooner Women's Golf Team hosted is hosting the Jimmie Austin Match Play tourney starting today (Monday, the 8th) with a round of 18 holes played in the morning and a round of match play played in the afternoon. In the morning round, the Sooners shot a 6-under 282 for the lowest score of the morning. Savannah Barber led the way for OU with a 5-under 67. Regan Chaney and Nina Lang shot 1-under 71 and Isabella Schlick shot a 1-over 73. Gracie Mayo shot a 7-over 79.

The leaderboard does not tell me who is playing in the afternoon match play matches. I will post the results in the morning. "X", it looks like the Sooners are playing OSU who shot 20-over in their morning round. Here were the match play pairings.

Oklahoma Sooner Women's Golf Team played very well on Monday and Tuesday to win The Match Play at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon with a 3-1-1 win over Tulsa.

Mayo - 79 and then 1 L, 1 T and 1 W - she rebounded well on Tuesday
Schlick - 73 and then 1 W, 1 L, 1 T - steady throughout
Chaney - 71 and then 1 W, 1 W and 1 L - played pretty well
Lang - 71 and then 1 W, 1 T and 1 W - played well and may have been a key to the two days
Barber - 67 and then 1 W, 1 W and 1 W - played like a #1 in every way
This was a good win by OU at home with their next match the important Big 12 Championship. Congratulations to the Team and the individual golfers in their match play efforts.

Oklahoma travels to Hockley, Texas, for the Big 12 Championship on April 18-20 at The Clubs at Houston Oaks.
