Bottom post of the previous page:

It's as annoying as just about ANY sound can be. I probably would be annoyed even it was done when a txasswhorn was pitching.

We need to recruit a whistler

AustinTXSooner wrote: Sat Apr 06, 2024 11:02 am I watched the game twice. Once live with Plank's broadcast and the second one was with the ESPN announcers. I never noticed it with Plank. It was annoying as hell on the ESPN broadcast.
I also watched it synced with Plank last night and like you, never noticed it. Kind of hard to miss listening to the ESPN broadcast though. But if it's a natural sound she can make it's no different than cheering or yelling during the game, so I don't see any problem with it. Sadly though, since so much has been made about it, we're guaranteed to hear it the entire game tonight. Get ready for it.

After one inning, OU leads 1-0... I also noticed the whistle watching last night's game, but have NOT noticed it tonight. Maybe the whistler is not in attendance in tonight's game?

Supposedly it is texas player Scott who whistles from the duggout. If that is not enough - they are using an airhorn as well tonight.

Texas' oft-maligned defense showed up well in the top of the 4th inning tonight, with back-to-back excellent plays that robbed OU of base hits in the outfield. OU has now gone 1-2-3 in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th innings.
Guiterrez is pitching well... lookin' like it's gonna be a nail-biter.

And right after I typed that, UT delivers back to back 2 out doubles to take a 2-1 lead.

We're having trouble stringing anything together and they seem to be getting hot.

Texas is smelling an upset, because that's what it'll be if they manage to snap our winning streak over them. But we still have two more innings to go. Never say die...

Texas with a leadoff single in the bottom of the 5th. It may be time to pull Nicole...

And Nicole delivers back to back strikeouts, the Horn runner still on first. And Patty makes the pitching change. Deal enters in relief of May, and immediately gets the 3rd out!

...But Sooners gotta get their hitting shoes on...

I'm sure Patty wants to win - but I questioned the batting lineup even after we scored in the 1st. I know she does this every year, and every year I question it. I assume she is learning something from it. But it seems like we can't string anything today. Wouldn't be the end of the world if we lose. Would like to see us score a few more though of course and keep them from scoring.

:ou: I said that in jest. I just get frustrated when May starts to get hit and Patty doesn't pull her until we're behind or got 2 or 3 runners on base

Dang! Had a RISP on 2nd with Tiare at bat and couldn't get the tying run. Guiterrez is benefiting from unusually good defense from her teammates.

This is great experience for Deal. Hoping we can get some Sooner magic in the top of the 7th. If not, it is what it is. We just have to come back tomorrow and win to take the series.

texas fielding is having the game of their life. They probably won't be able to duplicate again (hopefully at least not tomorrow). They are wanting this win desparately.
