Fred Waite
Born at Fort Arbuckle deep inside Indian Territory, Fred Waite left home for Colorado and the dream of becoming a professional cowboy.
His travels landed him his dream job in Lincoln County, New Mexico working as a ranch hand for a cattle baron named John Tunstall... Sound familiar yet?
When the land was legally stolen and Tunstall murdered, John Waite became a member of the Regulators... which prominently became the Billy The Kid Gang. When the gangs efforts of justice turned to criminal activities, Waite returned home to the Chickasaw Nation to live a law-abiding life.
He married and started a family, becoming a rancher before getting into politics. Waite was elected at one time or another as a representative and senator in the Chickasaw legislature and later became the Attorney General of the Chickasaw Nation by the time he died at the age of 42.
Opinions are still "OK" ...Correct?
