The ranked win marked head coach Skip Johnson's 200th career victory at Oklahoma and snapped TCU's 17-game home win streak.

"I thought Braden (Davis) was outstanding," said Johnson. "It was tough early, we just kept grinding at-bats out and that was really huge. Kyson (Witherspoon) came in and did a great job finishing the game. We executed with two strikes, there was a bunch of two-strike and two-out hits in that four-run (seventh) inning, that was huge."

The Sooners and TCU play again on Saturday at 5 PM.

Good luck to the Sooners toady.

he Oklahoma Sooners Baseball Team won their 6th consecutive conference game in 2024 as they won over the TCU Horned Frogs by the score of 9-4 on Sunday for their second sweep in Big 12 play. The win was built on the Sooners scoring 6 times thru the top of the 5th inning and starting pitcher James Hitt's pitching through 4 innings to open the game.

On offense the Sooners scored two unearned runs after Kendall Pettis reached first base on an error and was plated by Easton Carmichael's RBI ground out followed by a run scored on a wild pitch by Bryce Madron. In the 4th, the Sooners scored 3 runs on 3 RBIs hits or ground outs by Carter Fredrick (single), Jason Walk (first hit with a single and RBI of his career) and Pettis (RBI ground out) with each of them picking up 1 RBI. In the 5th, Michael Snyder hit a solo HR to open the inning to make the score 6-0.

Meanwhile, Hitt cruised through 4 innings allowing 4 hits (1 double) with 2 strike outs and allowing 0 runs. Hitt had some help in the 2nd inning when a runner on 3rd base was cut down in a rundown between home and 3rd on a fielders choice to 3B for the second out of the inning.

In the 5th inning, Hitt gave up a 3-run HR with two outs for the first runs of the game by TCU. But Oklahoma still lead 5-3. In the bottom of the 6th, TCU hit a solo HR with 2-outs off of Hitt to make it 6-4. Hitt was relieved by Dylan Crooks to end the inning on a line drive to LF.

Carson Atwood went to the hill to start the 7th inning and allowed one double with strikeout with no runs allowed to TCU. In the 8th, Atwood struck out two with one walk to hold TCU scoreless.

In the top of the 9th, Oklahoma scored 3 insurance runs on a single, single, HBP, 2 RBI single (Snyder) and a run on a passed ball. Atwood got the first out of the inning in the bottom of the 9th leading 9-4. before he allowed a single and a walk. Ryan Lambert relieved Atwood and retired the two batters he faced on fly out to LF and a looking strikeout to end the game.

Hitt got the win for the Sooners and Snyder's two hits lead the way for OU along with his 3 hits. Oklahoma picked up 10 hits in 36 at bats with 4 walks and 6 Ks. Jackson Nicklaus had a double in the game. Pettis and Madron had two hits.
