Softball: Conference Series I will be monitoring this weekend

Post by OUBeliever56A »

Most of the following series are probably 2-1 series this weekend. I am interested in which teams can with the 2nd game or which teams can manage to sweep the other team for some reason. In a couple cases, like Texas at Houston, I am just interested to see how the series is played.

In the Big 12:
Oklahoma State at Baylor (F, S, S)
Texas Tech at BYU (Th, F, Sat)
Texas at Houston (F, S, S)

In the SEC:
Auburn at Missouri (F, S, S)
South Carolina at Texas A&M (F, S, S)
Florida at Alabama (S, S, M)
LSU at Kentucky (F, S, S)

In the PAC-12:
California at Oregon (F, S, S)
Utah at UCLA (F, S, S)

In the ACC and Big 10:
None in the ACC or Big 10 this week.

Houston box score is "efficient" - 7 hits, 3 BB, and 2 texsa errors and they score 12. Even with 4 HRs, that's amazing.
texsa sucks!

That's definitely taking advantage of your base runners!

BTW, Baylor and OSU are going to extra innings tied 1-1.

In the Big 12:
Oklahoma State at Baylor (F, S, S) - OSU 4-1
Texas Tech at BYU (Th, F, Sat) - Tech 10-5, 15-0
Texas at Houston (F, S, S) - Houston 12-10

In the SEC:
Auburn at Missouri (F, S, S) - Mizzou 5-2
South Carolina at Texas A&M (F, S, S) - A&M 3-0
Florida at Alabama (S, S, M)
LSU at Kentucky (F, S, S) - LSU 6-2

In the PAC-12:
California at Oregon (F, F, S) - Cal 11-5, Oregon 4-3
Utah at UCLA (F, S, S) - UCLA 6-2

As has been posted about, the Texas defense "stood up" and committed 2 errors allowing 5 unearned runs in the 4th inning as Houston womm over the Longhorns. The two errors were by Mia Scott at 3B and by Washington at 2B on a throw. Texas had 2 HB, 1 walk and 2 errors in the inning to help Houston score 8 runs in the inning.

Tech is having a big offensive 'weekend' in Utah against BYU.

OSU scored 3 late runs on as Baylor tried to 'save' their game by bringing in Crandall to relieve Binford. That did not work on Friday.

UCLA received a good pitching effort by Tinsley by pitching 6.2 innings with no runs allowed. Terry relieved to give up 2 runs though in 0.2 innings.

Cal and Oregon split their DH.

LSU remained unbeaten on the road at Kentucky as Kentucky committed 3 errors and 3 unearned runs to LSU. Berzon CG W for LSU.

Texas leads Houston 6-5 in the bottom of 6. Houston has scored 3 in the inning and has 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.

Don’t know for sure, but I count 2 Texas errors in the inning.
