The first inning was a little shaky for May. Walked the first batter, struck out the second, the third hit a HR and so did the fourth - Miami leads 3-0 in the middle of the first.

Pickering and Parker are early in the line-up which is a little surprising. Patty must be wanting to signal that they are the future with the first game in Love's field.

We get bases loaded but then Tiare pops out and Parker has a deep fly-out to center that scores Coleman. Boone strikes out. Going to the top of the 2nd with Miami up 3-1 over OU.

I don't like this line-up at all - I would have not changed anything for the first game and got the win and then started playing around in the other games. But I'll defer to Patty. Perhaps it is worth losing a game to get the freshman something I am not a good enough coach to recognize.

Totally agree, however, knowing this is the first time the girls have stepped foot on the field, I would have kept everything as consistent as possible to minimize the uncertainties. I imagine they are having to learn about how to settle into this field in real time.

May just couldn't ever really settle down. With 2 outs and 2 on (walks) in the top of the 4th, Keeney comes in for relief. Miami OH still leading 3-1. Not only are our bats discombobulated but our pitching has been less than. Not a good way to start the day :(

Keeney gets the last out and we are to the bottom of the 4th with same score 3-1 Miami OH. Really need to see some hits strung together. I suppose losing today wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but not the best way to inaugurate the new field

Boone starts off with a bunt for a single. Then K9 gets a double to bump Boone to 3rd. Torres hits a fielder's choice to score Boone, 1 out. Cyd strikes out and Jayda hits a flyout to center to end the inning. We got 1 run.

Kenney is settling in nicely and gets a quick strike-out of the first batter in the top of the 5th. Second batter gets a quick pop-out. 2 down. 3rd batter flies out to center. Going to the bottom of the 5th. We need a couple more runs and just to get out of this with a win.
