Wow - these ladies just don’t ever give up. The heart that they demonstrated on that last 20-30 seconds sequence was incredible. Fighting for rebounds. Saving the ball from out of bounds. Lexi missing a couple and then making the money shot. Skylar Vann is just tougher than everyone else on the floor - Foul trouble early, an injury scare, shots not dropping - but she made the plays we needed in those final seconds.

They simply wanted this game more than Texas did.

Jenny should be unanimous pick for Big 12 coach of the year. And she should be on the very short list for national coach of the year. I don’t know her contract situation, but I expect Joe C to show her some love $$$ over the summer.

Just to show how meaningless stats are sometimes, if you had told me before the game Skylar would have 6 points, Sahara 8, and Payton would be 6-20 from the field and foul out, I'd have bet money they got blown out. And for a while, it looked like that was going to happen. They got down by 27-12 to start the game, shot 11% in the first qtr, and Madison Booker was unstoppable. It was a nightmare beginning. But as TN said, this Sooner team has an overabundance of heart! They just kept plugging away. A 12-1 run to end the first half got them right back in it, only to see Texas* push it back out to 13 in the third quarter. But OU completely dominated the boards last night (+17) and that allowed them to keep chipping away again, setting up the final flurry that led to Lexi's dramatic 3 from almost the same spot she hit a three to beat the Horns in Austin. Who says lightning doesn't strike twice? Great win! To think that Jenny had to replace THREE 1,000 pt scorers from last year's team, plus lost Liz due to injury, and she's essentially playing with an entire new lineup. Yet there they are, Big 12 Champs by a 2-game margin with one to play. What an incredible season!
I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong!
