Post by OUBeliever56A »

The Oklahoma Sooner Baseball Team get the season started at the Shriners Children's College Showdown ay Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX. They play a game each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, the Sooners play Oregon (PAC-12) at 3 PM. On Saturday they play Tennessee (SEC) at 7 PM and then on Sunday the finish with Nebraska (Big 10) at 10:30 AM in a very quick turnaround. Tennessee is ranked #9/#8 in the Pre-Season Rankings.

Oklahoma is in its seventh season under the direction of head coach Skip Johnson (including the 2020 season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson, who spent the 2017 season on staff as an assistant coach, has led the Sooners to a 189-132 record, three NCAA Tournament appearances, the 2022 Big 12 tournament championship and the 2022 College World Series finals since taking over as head coach prior to the 2018 season.

The games will be broadcast locally on Sportstalk 99.3 FM/1400 AM KREF. OU play-by-play announcer Toby Rowland will handle radio duties Friday and Sunday, while Josh Helmer will call Saturday's game. Ross Hubbard will serve as the color analyst for all three matchups.

Here is the Sooner staff writers article about the Sooners opening weekend.
