That needs to change...quickly!

:ou: :ou: :ou: :rice:
They have hit him a few times but by and large he has had time. Our d backs are (as usual) leaving gaping holes in coverage and we have to blitz to get the pressure so we are leaving larger holes for their receivers.

I believe we need to get lots and lots of players in the portal.
I kind of disagree with that last part about portal. Some patience will be required, but the studs coming on the defensive front will make the LBs better and the secondary better as well

Could be a lot worse on the wrong side of 3-1 turnover margin.

Quintessential Venables defense inside our own 30 yard line.

JA is gonna be good.....very good, guys.

Started out extremely poorly to say the least. Kind of surprised that we started with 5 of the first 6 plays as passes. What I had heard about Seth Littrell, and given it is JA’s first start, I thought we’d try to establish the run first and then pass later.

JA seems to have learned not to lock on his receiver and make late throws. Now it seems like he’s scared to throw down field (from some of his double pumps and fewer attempts down field). But I can’t tell from the TV if the receivers are covered or he’s learning not to force the ball if it’s not there. If the receivers are covered then maybe we need to hire UA’s d backs coach because ours sure have struggled over the last part of the season.

Half-time thoughts...

Coe and Bothrod playing lights out. So many close sacks. R.Mason gtes one. Keep it up in the second half.

Nic Anderson is the new Cee Dee. JA played fairly well considering the pics. OL is looking good, not great. No sacks ,so far.

On that one drive we went to the hurry and punished Zona for playing 8 yards deep against our WO's. Reminded me of what Brile's Baylor team did to Moops a few years back. It also let JA get confidence in his throws.

Let's score on the first drive of the second half and go on and win this one.

I'm already dreading the long off season. :boohoo: :dude:

Our DB's got a lot of praise from the coaches this year. I don't see why. Either they don't have good man coverage skills or the zone defense doesn't allow them to display it. Don't know which. But what we're doing does not inspire confidence.

JA wasn’t afraid to throw that pass downfield. Fantastic!

I didn't really like the last 2 calls not giving JA an opportunity to throw.

The defense has really settled in. Now let's see if we can stretch the lead to 18.
