Well, the WCWS is THE PINNACLE of women's softball - that, and the Olympics/Olympic Team.
That's where the money resides.

You are correct about that of course.....I'm not sure WPF would ever gain the stature of either of those. But it was kind of nice to watch an extension of the softball season and watch our favorite former Sooner players throughout the Summer.
I hope Tina has a big bank to keep them going for awhile, looks like they could play some of the various USA teams and maybe some international teams....and there's another independent team in Fla----the Vibe I think its called--so we should be able to schedule some games. I've read speculation about if the Texas Smoke is going independent also.
I hope we are able to keep HOF Stadium as their home---or if that's too expensive....maybe rent out Marita Hynes......and maybe draw in some summer school students as fans.
I wonder if this will free Tina up from the "Draft" so she can go after whatever Sooner player graduates that she can afford??
She could probably make an entire team out of Sooner Alumnae! How awesome would that be!!

You GOTTA read the link I posted! It's the essence of the Denco experience! Any Sooner at OU in the 1960's will enjoy the heck out of that article!

I didn't particularly like the looks of the Denco Darlin, but usually used to get their enchiladas. That was an inebriated sh*t show in there late nights, and without fail on weekend nights. If those softball girls were to name themselves Denco Darlins, only us old-timers would have a clue about the name.

LOL...you're right about that....but there's probably not much danger in that happening--the softball girls probably don't have any idea what a Denco Darlin is anyway....lol.....
