Big 12 Women's BB Rankings and Records 12/18- Sooners 9th in NET

The Big 12 Women's Basketball Rankings and Records are shown below. It is interesting to me that no team has lost more than 4 games and that 7 teams have 0 or only 1 loss. Four teams are ranked in the AP poll and 3 are ranked in the Coaches poll in the Top 25. A total of 6 teams are receiving votes in the two polls.

As for the all important NET Rankings, the Sooners set in 9th currently within the Big 12 conference with their #62 team ranking. As of these rankings, the five best teams that the Sooners have played are no longer ranked in either poll and the best NET ranking of the teams is #17 by UNLV. Princeton is #46, Ole Miss is #55, Virginia is #77 and Tennessee is #96.

The Sooners play North Carolina tonight at 8:30 on ESPN2. North Carolina (7-4) holds a NET Ranking of #45, and is ranked #24 and #25 in the AP and Coaches polls respectively. Tonight's game presents the Sooners with an excellent chance to defeat a very solid team and to move themselves up in the NET ranking compared to other Big 12 teams. Ou needs to probably be in the Top 7 Big 12 teams to make a reasonable run at the Big 12 Tourney. As I noted above, they are #9 in NET Ranking in the Big 12 currently.
