OU Cross Country Teams at Midwest Regional in Stillwater Today!

Post by OUBeliever56A »

Both the Men and the Woman Cross Country Teams are at the Midwest Regional today for the qualifying runs for the NCAA Championships next weekend. The Sooner Men finished 8th inthe Big 12 Meet while the Sooner Women finished 12th in the Big 12 Meet.

Here is the Sooner staff writers article about the Sooners at the Midwest Regional in Stillwater today.

It is somewhat a long shot for both teams to qualify for the NCAAs but you always run for your best time and to show improvement. The Sooners are showing that improvement in the cross country events this year. Both the men and women have two or four solid runners to lead the way.

The Oklahoma Sooners Cross Country Teams ran their last races of the season yesterday in Stillwater, OK in the Midwest Regionals. Neither team finished high enough to advance to the NCAA's.

Here is the Sooner staff writers article about the Regionals yesterday.

From their times and their participation this season, I do think that both teams did take positive steps towards better teams this season. Congrats to both teams for doing so.

For the Men's Team, they finished in 19th place for what probably is a good finish for them in the Regional.

MEN'S 10K – 19th – 443 points
Nicholas Young – 31:37.7
Gabe Medina – 32:19.0
Fernando Morales – 32:28.6
Colin Caso – 32:30.6
Peter Makuei – 33:18.1
Logan Seger – 33:31.1
Joshua Cherry – 35:48.7

For the Women's Team, they finished in 31st place in the Regional. They were only able to send 6 runners off for the start as for an unknown reason Gabi Barrera did not run yesterday. She is the Sooners 2nd best runner.

WOMEN'S 6K – 31st – 856 points
Erin O'Brien – 22:16.9
Grace Hanson – 23:10.4
Grace Williamson – 24:25.4
Brooklyn James – 24:43.3
Lily Horvath – 25:01.5
Kel McDavid – 27:09.5
