OU vs Texas - Pick the Score Contest
In last week's game against the Cyclones, the Sooners did something the previous coaching staff almost never did, and something the contestants in the Pick the Score contest aren't allowed to do: make in-game or halftime adjustments. After battling to an almost standstill of 21-20 during the first 20 minutes or so, the Sooners shut ISU down defensively for the next 40 minutes while the offense hummed along, to the tune of 29-zip. Here at SoonerTimes, we had two contestants that didn't need to make any halftime adjustments. In fact both KySooner and Wishbone missed the game's final score of 50-20 by a total of only 12 points, giving us our first dual winners for the season. Here is a recap of the year to date winners:
Week 1: Triple Option 77-0; actual score 73-0
Week 2: Fly 38-10; actual score 28-11
Week 3: Walt 63-13, actual score 66-17
Week 4: Charliedontsurf 24-15; actual score 20-6
Week 5: KySooner 48-10, Wishbone 45-13, actual score 50-20.
Now I don't have to tell anyone who the opponent is this week. For the first time in a long time, 2 undefeated squads will face off in the Cotton Bowl. And if we are being honest, the only thing that is keeping this from being a top 10 (if not top 5) match-up is the Sooner's disaster of a season last year. As much as we hate to admit it, our poor texas opponent has really come alive this season, and although the Sooners haven't cracked the top 10 in the polls, statistically both the offense and defense are top 3 in scoring. And on top of all the other reasons to hate ut, there is last year's embarrassment that we need to set right. I expect a hard fought game, with both teams finding success offensively and defensively at different times. Statistically through 5 games the horns have a slightly better rushing offense and rushing defense (yards/game), and the team that rushes it the best usually wins this game. However this season the Sooner players are locked in on showing that last year was an aberration, and this is the pinnacle opportunity to do that. Sooners get last years bad taste out of their mouths - for themselves and their fans!

I'm going 32-30 OU. OU scores 3 TDs, a safety and 3 field goals to texas's 3 TDs and 3 field goals.
