OKLAHOMA SOONERS vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane: GAME THREAD...
...winding up the non-conf with the "other" little brother in Green country.
Tulsa hasn't fared well for a while,
2018-3-9
2019-4-8
2020-6-3
2021-7-6
2022-5-7
I think Wilson is a good coach, even though he did fail in the Big!
(I always felt like his slow to get in the called play was a factor in the Natl Title game with Tebo's Gators.)
I think he will get the GH moving in the right direction, but unless I'm in for a shock, I see this as a rebuilding year for Tulsa (at best).
Always liked the Tulsa program in general. (Much preferred to OwussU)
I had two cousins play there. Doug Desherow played corner & safety and his younger brother BO played DE if memory serves before he transferred.
GH has had several notable players, Howard Twilley was a boyhood hero and Steve Largeant. (who I first met in 5th grade @ Rollingwood Elementary on NW 63rd. Mrs. Nelson was our teacher.)
Anyway, b4 I digress further, no hate for Tulsa.
Huskies beat them what 43-10?
Will experience some concern if OKLAHOMA doesn't surpass that score.
Hoping to see a little more from the SOONER Run Game.
I think we have a "good" O-Line, and I believe Coach Bedenbaugh could make them a "great" one, but it's a work in progress.
Would like to see a stampede of every rb in the stable. (Wondering if Sawchuck's injury may have been more severe than led to believe.)
Hand it to them, pitch it to them, throw it to them.
Physicality! Establish it!
WR's look pretty good, but think you'll likely see more of the "if you're beat, tackle the sumb*tch" strategy today.
Always thought it should be a "spot" foul.
Mostly want to see some shots taken down the field.
SOONER Defense needs to do more of the same.
Stuts is a Stud! Linebackers beginning to show aggressive play making. A Venable's trademark. Kip L and Jared K are learning fast. ( Has Piccotti played any?)
Secondary looks solid!
My expectations are always a SHUTOUT!
Still evaluating the kicking game. Maybe see a few attempts today.
Looking for a solid ""DUBYA!"
Win and cover!!!
ROLL MACHINE, ROLL!!

2 penalties in the first 2:12 of the game. Sooners have to clean up these penalties

Quite the start. Great opening return but fumbled to give ball away. Then intercept pass and get penalty. Then a few quick striked and Farioq gets the TD.
OU 7-0

Been wondering the same thing, and about the false start on Farooq. Didn't see him move in live action, but have not rewound yet to see. These refs seem a bit lost and like they are working their first game.

Refs even tried to give Tulsa an extra 3rd down and BV had to correct them.RussC wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 3:03 pmYes the refs are not inspiring confidenceUp North Sooner wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 2:52 pmBeen wondering the same thing, and about the false start on Farooq.
