Bottom post of the previous page:

As bad as we have looked for a good part of this game, we are currently covering the spread.

One positive takeaway: in previous years we would have lost this game because the defense would have collapsed. That didn’t happen tonight. We are definitely getting better on defense.

Good to see how the team dealt with adversity

I’m pretty sure that the coaches all stacked hands and said “why don’t we just showcase our D tonight?”

Very true. And SMU is salty. We still have a ton to clean up on Offense all around. Starts with play calls and then execution of plays. Our defense allowed our offense to sputter and thats a massive change from years past

I feel like the clean ups are very manageable going forward. Eg so many soft places in zone pass d

...Stutsman was sideline to sideline this evening.
Played like a Butkus candidate.
Bet he had 17 or better tackles.

Kip L. looked good at backer. So did Jared K.

We can breathe somewhat easier now, it's clear there's been noticeable upgrade in the Defensive play.

Hear the chinamen on OC Lebby,...but will say the machine rolled when it had to.
Executed in the 4th quarter.

OK, TULSA! Your turn.

Tawee had career night. Did Major do enough to keep getting touches early? Can Sawchuck ever get healthy?

That touchdown catch by Major was special. His running for the most part wasn't but he was better in the 2nd half.

I think I'd give the defense a B+ tonight and offense a C-.

I would have given the defense an A if not for all of the 4th quarter penalties.
