Bottom post of the previous page:

I think I'd give the defense a B+ tonight and offense a C-.

I would have given the defense an A if not for all of the 4th quarter penalties.

What the SMU coach said "SMU coach Rhett Lashlee: “I don’t know if they had a ball thrown down the field on us all game. They had to grind it out." is pretty accurate.

I hate to say this again, but I wasn't happy about the offense tonight. The defense was pretty good and won the game.

Defense played well. That was not PI on us in the end zone it was good coverage. Eliminate that bad call and no TDs scored on the Sooners yet….

Offensive play calling was Dr Jeckyl or Mr Hyde, it didn’t matter versus Ark St…..but it mattered tonight…..

Leave the bad play calls out…..

What I wonder - and espn did not show the downfield much - was Dillion gun shy to attempt a deep pass? My guess is Jackson Arnold is doimg great in practice and DG is afraid to throw a pick and get benched. Pure speculation but I cannot believe not one person was open deep all game.

The other note was the type of plays on offense it just made it hard to get in a rythym. Too many qb designed runs when we have a lot of playmakers.

But what is encouraging is all the defensive plays by so many players. And young ones. Bowen is is going to be special. I watched a ton of Jackson Arnold HS games last year and PB was on same team and made so many plays. Just like his punt block tongiht he gave O short field for 1st TD.

I do think Lebby cleans it up he finished in top 10 on offense last year. We need Sawchuk to complement Walker and other running backs. I think they are being careful with injuries.

Main thing is we won and last year and especially year prior we lose this type game. SMU has a very senior team too and were well coached. They are a good team. But we easily could have blown them out with some different plays on offense. If we can sort that out combined with defense we can have a really good year

He had 2 passes thrown his way and dropped both. Likely in dog house?

Our defense was really great and 8 points stemmed from bogus PI. Offense could have scored more with some different decisions and execution.
