Donnie Gobourne "Sparkled" in her performance last night holding the Texas Smoke to only 3 hits, 2 singles and a double while striking out 12 batters in a 2-0 victory.
The Sparks bats weren't particularly loud either though, but were able to piece together a walk, single, fielder's choice, and a double to score the two runs needed to get the win.

Fa Leilua crushes a three run bomb in the third to deep left center and Michelle Moultrie scores on and Sac Fly down the RF line by Sami Williams to beat the Texas Smoke 4-1.
Ricketts comes in the 3rd in relief to get the win

The Spark now have a few days off until they have to go back to Alabama to play the Pride next Thursday, July 20th at 7:30pm.

The Spark have now climbed into first place in the league just barely ahead of the Smoke. Here are the current league standings--at more or less the halfway point of the season.
Spark 12-7
Smoke 12-8
Pride 8-9
Vipers 4-12
