Ok but it still makes no sense to me. Is he able to play at his current school? Or is he sitting out the fall - which if not injured seems strange too. And if he does play fall at current school and gets hurt, what then. It all doesn’t make sense to me but I am not up on all the rules/nuances.BOOM!! JUCO DL Saili

He is JUCO player, but I don't think he has graduated JUCO yet, so he would not be eligible to play D1 (unless he was qualified out of high school). I know schools like OU don't normally recruit JUCO players this early, but the Sooners must have really liked his big body.

So if JUCO you can commit to D1 early yet still play at JUCO? I had no idea, thanks for explaining

Does it seem odd to anyone else that we heard NOTHING about OU being interested in this guy until after LeBlanc announced he was leaving? His offer list besides OU is not exactly stellar. Maryland and who else?
Either the Sooner coaches really like this kids potential and are better evaluators than everyone else, or they are taking a guy just to fill a spot because they are short on bodies up front. I fear it may be the latter.

I would bet big money our postion coaches each have a huge list of players that are not on offer list but if come available would be helpful. Just like our AD had a coaching list all while LR was coaching. You are always steps ahead of things just in case and I’d bet our coaches have lists like that. And once LeBlanc left they looked at list of kids and found this one as candidate. I don’t think it was blindly done. But its likely a never ending list needing comstant updating as kids commit to schoolsSoonerTony wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 12:57 pm Does it seem odd to anyone else that we heard NOTHING about OU being interested in this guy until after LeBlanc announced he was leaving? Remember for 2023 they added the Tenn. DL and Washington ST DL too. Both big solid experienced players. In addition to what we had. If BV, Bates and Co. are ok with him coming in the class of 24, then so am I.
