So what is the O/U going to be for OU?

So heavy recruiting time is on the calendar for the next 2 months is here, OU 24k class is lagging behind in numbers nationally. Some fans are getting anxious, and trolls are alive and well. Recruiting emphasis has changed sinced BV took over and our commits are doing things differently. I think this is in large part due to BV's - take your visits before you decide philosophy. We are getting commitments much later in the cycle than in years past. I'm ok with that, just so we get them.

To my topic, OU has 3 recruiting weekends this month starting this weekend with the end of BV's football camps. Champ U BBQ next weekend and another on the 24. Whily there are some OV's in June, July is typically when we get our largest number of OV's and commits. Recruiting under BV has taken a sizeable upswing during June and July and I expect that it won't be any different this year.

Realizing that very few will commit while in Norman (usually a few days or weeks after), what should the over/under be for the number of commitments we receive during June and what should the number be for July? Bonus points for names, positions and dates.

I've noticed a lot of bedwetting regarding OU's recruiting results so far, on a few other boards because we are not in the top 10 or even 20 in recruiting as of now. I think this is how our recruiting under BV and his recruiting policy and style is going to be from here on out. Also, maybe more than in the past, the players are enjoying the recruiting game and are not in a hurry to commit, especially now that the NCAA has allowed them to take more than 5 OV's - that's a lot of short family vacations.

So I am going with an O/U of:

June 4
July 5

I’ll go 5 and 5, but think I might be too low. Its hard to gauge because we do ask recruits to take visits and commit when ready. I know we made 6 offers so far just from BV camps.

Like said the main thing is to get them. If one looks at it another way, if someone high up commits then decommits in fall it gives a bad vibe. Better to have never had the commit than to have and lose them - that gives a bad vibe.

Here's a link to USC's list. I thought Lincoln said he would clean up in California. He is only a few spots ahead of us and I'm sure it will improve. I don't see the SC fans whinnying about their spot. We OU fans are a fickle bunch. I know this board understands BV's policies.

Recruiting is just too hard for me to follow,in the pre-commitment time frame…..even after that point things change…

I just take note when we sign a star QB, or a 389# NT…..those things make a difference
