Men's and Women's Field and Track Teams in Austin for TX Relays!

The Oklahoma Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams will be in Austin, Texas on Wednesday to Saturday for the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The Men's and Women's Teams have been performing very well for a while now. Coach Langford has this to say about the 4-day meet this week:

"I'm glad for our program to get back to action following a strong week of training," said head coach Tim Langford. "The Texas Relays is a popular meet that brings competition from all over the country. We're ready for a new challenge and expect some elite performances."
The action starts on::

Wednesday with the women's heptathlon at 10:30 a.m. CT and the men's decathlon at 11 a.m.
Thursday, field events begin at 11 a.m. CT, while running events kick off 4:30 p.m. CT.
Friday morning will begin with running events at 9:35 a.m. CT and field events starting at 12:30 p.m. CT.
Saturday, the final day of competition, starts at 10:40 a.m. CT with running events, while field events begin at 11:00 a.m. CT.

In the Men's Decathlon and Women's Pentathlon on Wednesday the Sooners had mixed results.

In the Women's Pentathlon, Sophomore Ariel Pedigo is currently in 15th overall. On Wendesday, Pedigo finished 17th in the 100 Meter Hurdles, 6th in the High Jump, 5th in the Shot Put and 18th in the 200 Meters. Today she will compete in the Long Jump, Javelin and 800 Meter events.

In the Men's Decathlon, Nikolaj Groenbech (sophomore) was unable to finish the competition.

Today, the Men's and Women's Field events and Men's and Women's long distance running events begin.

The Sooners continued to perform well on Thursday in Austin at the Texas Relays.

Several Sooners did very well in the action yesterday in the field and distance running events with personnel bests and high finishes. They are detailed in the article above.

Colin Caso claimed first place in the men's 10k with a time of 30:56.41
In the women's 1,500-meter run, Yazmine Wright finish in fourth place with a time of 4:19.79
Friday's competition will begin with running events at 9:35 a.m. CT, while field events will start at 12:30 p.m. CT.

The Oklahoma Sooner Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams performed well on Saturday and Sunday and finished strong in the Texas Relays meet in Austin, TX.

Coach Tim Langford had this to say, "I think we had a good showing this weekend, considering where we are in training," "We had several personal records and top-10 performances. I think we are building on the success of our indoor season and focusing on making the outdoor championships even better."

Oklahoma is becoming a very strong Track and Field Team in the last year. They have athletes that can win events in the field events and on the track in both the Men and the Women events. The Sooners will have a week off before hosting their first outdoor meet of the season, Sooner Invite and Multis, April 14-15.
