BOOM!! 23 PWO OL C.J. Compton Commits

Post by OU Guy »

C.J. Compton is a versatile offensive lineman from nearby Bethel who has been rated as a 3-star prospect and one of the top players in Oklahoma.

Another local talent has chosen Oklahoma.

The Sooners received a verbal commitment Tuesday from C.J. Compton, an offensive lineman from nearby Bethel. Compton made the announcement on Twitter.

Compton is 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds in the 2023 recruiting class. It is believed he will be a preferred walk-on at OU.

On3 rates him as a 3-star prospect, the No. 85 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 13 prospect in the state who had been “receiving interest” from Oklahoma State.

Just curious, is this a scholarship offer or PWO? I’ve read both and wondered if anyone knows for sure.

I've only heard PWO. But, today is the 2nd National Signing Day, so we will probably find out soon.

I like what I am reading on the internet about this young man.

He has started games at left guard, left tackle, and center. He is obviously intelligent enough to slide along the line and play where most needed.

He has also been a regional powerlifting champion.

Definitely has the frame to pack on another 20-30 pounds after he arrives.
