Oklahoma hires New Volleyball Coach, Aaron Mansfield

Joe Castiglione announced the hiring of a new Volleyball Coach for the Sooners yesterday - Aaron Mansfield. Here is the staff writers article about the new coach.

As the article states, Coach Mansfield formerly coached at Loyola Marymount and had success their with a winning record their as well as taking LM to the playoffs with some success.
After the conclusion of the 2022 season, there were some thoughts of a couple of the young players entering the transfer portal. So far, there has only been the 1 transfer that I have seen. Grace Talpash is in the portal but she announced that before the season was over. For her Graduate Senior year she is wanting to transfer out west to be closer to home.
It seems that the hiring of Coach Mansfield would be a positive thing for the program since he has taken a team to the playoffs and that he has a winning record as a Head Coach. Maybe he can retain the quality youth that the Sooners have accumulated and he can keep the three recruits for next year in the program. He should be able to recruit the west coast in the future also based upon his performance at Loyola Marymount.
I really hope the Sooner Volleyball team continues its upward trajectory that coach Gray-Walton had started.
