I saw where he apparently just "showed up" on campus got to meet with Coach Bates, but missed Coach Venables (unavailable - maybe out of town). He said he would be coming back this weekend. Shortly after reading this, I see he has been crystal balled to OU. FANTASTIC!!!
As a side note, if he were to commit early. There are 7 other 5* players (all top 20 players in 2024 class nationally) that also attend IMG. I'm guessing if he commits, he could pull some of them with him to OU.
I guess with that kind of talent, it kind of goes without saying that IMG-FL will be hard to beat for the foreseeable future.

Well if this true I don't know if we ever sign a 5* again. The OP has a link that's behind a paywall, so I'm only guessing from what the posters are saying.

If you recall back a few months we hit Florida hard and often with everyone it seemed. Even had HS coaches tweeting thanks for stopping by. I think it will pay off big time. Like you said get first one and domino effect. Not just FL but getting a 5* means other 5*’s take notice. Then you have a deal where top players don’t want to miss out on a great team so they commit to not miss the opportunity before slots fill up.

Norman feels like home for David Stone. The No. 15 prospect in the 2024 On3 Consensus is a major target for Brent Venables and the Sooners.
Last fall, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound four-star defensive lineman attended almost all the Oklahoma home games, and although there was a coaching change, his feelings are the same.
“I have been talking a lot to coach (Todd) Bates and coach Venables since they got there and I still love Oklahoma,” Stone told On3. “I was at five home games last season, I love the new coaches, and the school is great. There have been some coaching changes, but I still love everything about Oklahoma.”
Michigan and Tennessee recently offered Stone. LSU and USC among others offered in January. Numerous other schools are on Stone’s radar, but all are chasing Oklahoma.
“Oklahoma is on top. The new coaches are wonderful people, they are all very knowledgeable, and they know how to develop players. It is a great school that has everything I am looking for.”
Stone was planning to visit Alabama over the weekend, but was unable to make it. He is set to visit Oklahoma again on March 20, during his spring break.
IMG Academy is where Stone is now after transferring from Del City in Oklahoma City early in 2022.
