Oklahoma remains “still pretty strong” for the high four-star offensive tackle from Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Lee’s Summit North after he was back in Norman over the weekend to watch spring practice. He loved the intensity of the workout and the focus on perfection in everything the Sooners did. Oklahoma is right there with Michigan and others but the feeling is right now the Sooners have a slight edge.

After three visits to Oklahoma in the past two months, Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North offensive tackle Cayden Green is headed back to Norman again next month.

The four-star mauler tweeted Thursday that he will return to Norman this summer for an official visit — his seventh trip to Oklahoma in the last calendar year. His trip, which is scheduled for June 3-5, is expected to be the Sooners’ biggest visit weekend of the summer.

Green is the No. 72 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 7 offensive tackle and the No. 2 junior prospect in Missouri.

As it stands now, the Sooners are overwhelming favorites to land him, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. It gives OU 95.9 percent chance of securing his commitment. He recently named a top five that included Oklahoma, Missouri, Michigan, Miami, and Nebraska.

Missouri has gone all-out to keep the prized big man home, including Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz going so far as to show up in a dump truck at Green’s school in January. But Green has a strong relationship with Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, who elected not to follow head coach Lincoln Riley to USC.

Miami, led by former Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal, has made Green a priority dating back to his time in Eugene. And Cayden Green said recently that he plans to take an official visit to Coral Gables.

Green has locked in an official to Nebraska for next weekend. And both Michigan and Missouri are expected to receive a visit as well, likely later this summer.
