Porter Moser

Post by OU Guy »

What a great hire!

Parker Thune

This was a home run hire for the #Sooners, and that’s putting it lightly.

Porter Moser is (and always has been) a coach that could do wonders at a program with a nationally established brand. He’s going to get Oklahoma very competitive, very quickly.

It looks like Porter and his new staff are going to be good recruiters as well. He's already turning 2022 and 2023 heads, not to mention the portal transfers he got to shore up the squad for this season. Let's GO!

Lon did great in keeping program clean and restoring our good name. But now we have a passionate coach who I am excited to see what he can build over the next 4 years.

That was a class move by the new coach! Everything that I read about the direction of the program under his leadership is so positive.

Then they go out and play some "Billy Ball". He always wanted to put 100 on every opponent while Barry always wanted to hang half a hundred on 'em.

Season opens tonight. The new era begins. Season 1 of a new coach is their best time. Media mostly gives them a pass and fan expectations are lower. So this means the new coach can really buckle down to their trade craft with less distractions. By end of season their stamp will be on team but also for recruits to see their style of play and how they improved players.

With his endless energy and the first year freedom I look forward to this season. I think he will embody Sooner tradition and make everyone proud regardless of record.

Thanks Guy! That was a good read. I got tickled at this line:
“I go to Creighton and I’m like the 10th guard out of eight of us,” Moser joked at a leadership event in September. “Two managers were ahead of me on the depth chart.”
