OU Baseball: Drops game in Tulsa in a 3-1 loss on Tuesday.

Post by OUBeliever56A »

The Oklahoma Sooners Baseball Team traveled to Tulsa yesterday for a mid-week game against the sub-.500 Tulsa Hurricanes. The result was surprising as the Sooner bats were silenced to the extent of Tulsa allowed 3 singles and 4 walks to the Sooners and Tulsa won the game 3-1.

The Sooner pitchers did not have a bad day as they allowed 3 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks with only 1 double allowed. But when they only get one run of support, the game is hard to win. James Hitt, the starter (4.0 IP, 4 hits, 1 walk, 2Ks and 2 runs) Grant Stevens (1 IP, 1 unearned run allowed with 2 hits, 1 walk an 1 K), Carter Campbell (1.2 IP with 2 hits) and Dylan Crooks (1.1 IP with no base runners) did not pitch badly at all.

The Sooners got singles from Spikerman, McKenzie and Walk. Madron (2), Snyder and Willits had the walks for the Sooners. The Sooners managed to have two runners on base only in one inning last night.

Here is the Sooner staff writers article about the loss at Tulsa for the Sooners.

The loss extends the losing streak to 3 games as the Sooners drop to 26-17 on the season.

Up next is a road series at Texas Tech as OU returns to Big 12 conference play this weekend, May 3-5, in Lubbock vs. Texas Tech (29-17, 12-12). The three-game series begins Friday with a 6:30 p.m. CT first pitch. The series can be seen via Big 12 NOW on ESPN+.

I believe the game was against Oral Roberts, a team we beat 10-0 in late March.
