I noticed a number of losses this week by members of the top 10 and wondered who all got beat. I dug the data for the rest of the ESPN top 10 from last week (current record, losses for the week)
Texas 29-5 - 2 losses
Georgia 29-5 - 1 losses
Tennessee 27-5 - 1 loss
Duke 29-3 - 0 losses
Stanford 27-6 - 1 loss
LSU 29-4 - 0 losses
Washington 25-5 - 0 losses
Florida 31-5 - 1 loss
OSU 29-6 - 1 loss
So - 6 of the 9 had at least 1 loss (only Texas/OSU was against other Top 10 teams - so all the other losses would be upsets).
After the Vols lost today, OU is again the team with the longest winning streak in d1 softball. Texas and osu both have 3 conference losses.
Whatever problems we fixate on with our program, they are truly first world - we are the big dog, as we have been for 4 years.
Top 10 for the week

This morning I think there were only 5 teams w less than 5 losses. With Tennesee losing it may be 4 now.
OU with 1 loss, is the exception...... again.

So true that we demonstrably have another top notch team this year, but also remember we have only played 2 games vs the top tier so far this year. One game vs Washington and one against Duke. Of course, that's about to change next weekend.

It is true that Duke at #8 and Washington at #22 are the two highest in the RPI strength that OU has played. But OU's schedule has not been as bad a some would lead you to think. OU's schedule is #36 in the country. Not Bad.
Their opponent's schedules is #1 in RPI. That counts as much as your own W-L%.
Overall, OU holds the #1 RPI ranking now. After they play Texas three games, (#4 in RPI) OU could take a big lead with 2 or 3 wins. With UCF, BYU, Houston and OSU left (all in the top 81 RPI teams), OU will be in the top 4 in RPI, probably #1 if they keep the losses under 4 or 5.
