Technically, we've had enough meets for gymnasts to have NQS scores. At this point, it's the average of all their scores minus their best score. So they are all still carrying their worst score. After our next meet, if they've participated in every meet on an event, they can drop their worst score. That's when the NQS scores will start settling in and you can take an early look at how each gymnast ranks in the nation. I won't be giving NQS scores for now, just averages.

It is remarkable to me how good our ladies have been in contrast to the rest of the good teams out there - we have clicked on most cylinders right out of the shoot and have just kept on posting the highest scores, by a fairly large margin, in the country. Friday night gave some glimpse of where vault can be, as we started to see a couple of sticks that have been missing.
We likely have already posted scores that will hold up and keep us #1 throughout the season, even if another team starts to come together.
One big asset - we have 4 experienced ladies doing the all-around - that only leaves 2 slots on each event for other gymnasts - and when you consider Regan does all but vault, there isn’t a lot of room for the younger, less experienced ladies. Even given that, KJ is working her freshmen into the rotation and they are performing well.
I would expect to see KJ start to reduce the load on the 4 AA’s for the next few meets, just to keep them from wearing out too early. Rest them on 1-2 events for the easier meets we have coming up.
