Bottom post of the previous page:

So, he's not playing in the Holiday Bowl, but has anyone seen if Caleb has actually come out and declared for the NFL draft yet? or what he plans to do next year?

It wouldn't surprise me if CW sat out the Holiday Bowl and then returns to the condoms for 2024. That's never been done before, at least by healthy athletes, that I can remember. But this is USCw.....home of the desperate and the fruits, the flakes, and the nuts.

I think his dad has been the one making decisions, if I had to guess. Caleb is not the most strong minded based on his actions the past few yearss at usc. I think his dad pushes him pro. But for Caleb, he needs another year of college to mature. My guess is he takes the NFL money

(Caleb may not be the most strong minded) ! Right but his dad is no brain trust himself. His dad has guided him to what he has done
& look where it has gotten him. This whole thing reminds me of Marcus Dupree all over again. That kid was advertised by a so called
friend of his family. Sad, look how it destroyed his career.

Caleb's dad has stated that Caleb would not go to the NFL if certain teams are in position to draft, or if he doesn't get a share of a team. Caleb is one of the highest NIL earners, nearly $3 mil, and it's reported that USC boosters have promised more if he returns.....this gives him the freedom to make such a claim. I can understand the Williams wanting their cake and eat it too, but you have to get into the NFL to get the really big numbers.

Thats big NIL money but he risks doing worse or an injury. The charm with NFL if he goes high is big money and he can negotiate gaurantees as part if it, before he even takes a snap. All those comments about ownership were his dads for sure and that likely hurt his stock.

Coming back they are going to B10 so lots of new venues and higher chances of injury due to physicality of conf or even turf conditions (since he runs around a lot and makes quick moves).

The smart play to get money now is go NFL. The better long term play but with way more risks is stay another year.

"smart play" is the operative phrase here. Taking into account who is making the decisions on Caleb's future, nothing about "smart" ever enters my mind.

If Stutsman is not playing in the bowl, any word if maybe Conner Near will get some snaps ?? I know Lewis has been in for Stutsman .. so maybe mostly Kanak and Lewis .... It''l be interesting to see who gets some snaps in addition.

Near, Kanak and McKinzie have been at the Mike position I think? Stutsman at the Will.

Maybe we will see Sammy O…

Caleb is not getting a share of an NFL team….. owners are not stupid well except for Cleveland owners….

Look a the #1 team SF their QB is Mr Irrelevant ….NFL doesn’t need a high priced QB……. Doesn’t even need a skilled QB look at Dallas, Dak Prescott is inaccurate beyond 30 yards…….

NFL ain’t CFB

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers. Your point is very valid.

Ya'll, I think the NFL has limits on rookie contracts. It's a lot of money from our perspective, but the BIG money comes in the second contract. CW can demand all he wants, but the CBA limits how much he will get, there's very little negotiation for rookies.

With CW not playing, just curious if LR has opted out of the bowl game yet? :)

I don’t think LR has anywhere to go…..is his contract guaranteed or dependent on continuing in his position??
