OU vs Kansas - Pick the Score Contest
The Rangers offensive explosion in Game 7 in Houston almost distracted me from getting the Pick the Score Contest up and running. I'm hopeful that the Astros won't make a Sooner-like comeback. Although the Sooners have shown a strong 4th quarter offense this whole season, it really came in handy again Saturday vs UCF. This week our resident "in-the-know" poster for some of Oklahoma's more minor sports, OUBeliever56A, showed that he not only knows what's going on off of the gridiron but on the gridiron as well. Congratulations for your first Pick the Score Contest win this year. We appreciate you keeping us informed on all things Sooner-Sports!
Here are the winners for the year:
Week 1: Triple Option 77-0; actual score 73-0
Week 2: Fly 38-10; actual score 28-11
Week 3: Walt 63-13, actual score 66-17
Week 4: Charliedontsurf 24-15; actual score 20-6
Week 5: KySooner 48-10, Wishbone 45-13, actual score 50-20.
Week 6: Fly 34-31; actual score 34-30
Week 7: OUBeliever56A 31-13; actual score 31-29
For week 8 the Sooners face a second team in a row that has had 2 weeks to prepare. Fortunately UCF has focused the Sooner's defensive attention to keep disciplined in their eyes and in their lanes (and hopefully in their celebrations). As far as special teams, we seemed to have solved our punting woes but FG kicking has only gotten worse. Our offense has had a bit of an up and down season, with several really good performances and several where they seem to get in their own way. Kansas has a lot of similarities as UCF, in that they have a powerful offense and a less powerful defense. However they ran roughshod over this same UCF team a couple of weeks ago, albeit without facing a full strength QB. This Kansas team is not the pushover that most fans have associated with Kansas for so many years. OU should win, but they will have to play well to do it. I'm hopeful that the Sooners will bring their 1st quarter defense to Lawrence with their 4th quarter offense. Sooners go 8-0!

There is a typo above. The score I selected was 31-13 not 31-30. But by your comments, you logged 31-13 and that I missed by 16 which seems to have been the winner.gcruse7 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 9:55 pm The Rangers offensive explosion in Game 7 in Houston almost distracted me from getting the Pick the Score Contest up and running.
