The Oklahoma Sooner Cross Country teams had a good morning in Lubbock today. As teams, they finished in 3rd place in both divisions, Men and Women. The 3-3 finish for the Sooners is the beat they have had since this meet in 2022 when the Sooner Women finished in 1st and the Men finished in 2nd. I will say that this meet is not an 'elite' meet but it still is a good performance by the Sooners against this competition.

3rd - Oklahoma Men - 88 Total

Total Time: 2:10:22.00
Average: 26:04.40

9th - Colin Caso - 25:26.70
16th - Peter Makuei - 26:04.20
17th - Fernando Morales - 26:06.20
18th - Nicholas Young - 26:09.20
28th - Logan Seger - 26:35.70
45th - Josh Cherry - 27:21.40

With the three Sooner runners finishing in 16-18th places, the Sooners were able to push themselves up the standings with that consistency of finishers. Once again, colin Caso led the Sooners. Peter Makuei ran well alo finishing in 16th.

In the Men's 8K run, West Texas A&M finished in 1st place with 41 Total Points with 3 runners in the Top10 and 5 in the Top 20.

New Mexico State finished in 2nd Place with 60 Total Points with 2 runners in the Top 10 ad 3 in the Top 20.

3rd - Oklahoma Women - 112 Total

Total Time: 2:01:09.70
Average: 24:13.94

4th - Gabi Barrera - 22:54.30
9th - Erin O'Brien - 23:22.80
16th - Grace Williamson - 24:05.00
30th - Brooklyn James - 24:56.80
53rd - Lilly Horvath - 25:50.80
72nd - Kel McDavid - 27:30.20

I am not sure I remember a race in 2022 where Erin O'Brien did not lead the Sooners in the results for the Women's Team. The performance by Gabi Barrera has to be a very good sign for the Sooner Women runners. O'Brien still ran well in this race. Williamson had a nice time also to finish 16th.

The Women's 6K Run was won by West Texas A&M with 42 Total Points with 3 runners in the Top 10 finishers and 4 in the Top 15.

Texas Tech finished in 2nd with 62 Total Points with 2 runners in Top 10 and 4 in the Top 15.

Congrats to the Sooner runners on their performance.
