Both Brandons (Huffman and Drumm) are pretty accurate as a rule.

Top247 CB Jasiah Wagoner commits to Oklahoma
16 minutes ago
Spanaway (Wash.) Lake cornerback Jasiah Wagoner is headed to the Big 12.
Wagoner announced his commitment to Oklahoma moments ago.
After being offered by the Sooners in the spring, Wagoner took two unofficial visits to Norman.
That included a performance at Oklahoma’s camp in June, where he got to work with the Sooner coaches.
And that camp experience played a big role with him.
“I picked Oklahoma because of how elite the coaching staff is and I know I can get developed on and off the field,” said Wagoner. “I knew it was the place for me after I went to their camp this summer.”
Giving first year head coach Brent Venables a commitment was something Wagoner had felt like doing for a while but he let cornerbacks coach Jay Valai know first.
“I told coach Valai first and he seemed pretty surprised and excited,” said Wagoner.
But ultimately, the entire Sooner staff played a role in Wagoner’s decision.
“They played a huge role,” said Wagoner. “Oklahoma is always going to be a good program so they were high on my list, but having a good relationship with the coaches is what put them at the top.”
Wagoner said his family was thrilled, but would have been wherever he chose.
“My parents were obviously going to be proud no matter where I went,” said Wagoner.
Wagoner said the distance from his Washington home wasn’t an issue.
“It wasn’t a factor at all,” said Wagoner.
Wagoner said he wants to recruit more players to join him in the secondary at Oklahoma.
“I’m not sure who specifically I will recruit but it will for sure be another DB,” said Wagoner.
Wagoner, who intends to graduate early and early enroll in January, landed his first offer, from Oregon, 2.5 years ago, the week before the pandemic shut recruiting down.
So the long process has caught up with Wagoner and he’s glad to be done.
“It’s a big relief,” said Wagoner. “I’m glad I found a home and I can just focus on football now.”
His commitment gives Oklahoma their second pledge from the state of Washington in the class of 2023, and the second top 10 prospect in the state.
Last month, Snoqualmie (Wash.) Mount Si offensive lineman Heath Ozaeta committed to the Sooners and now Wagoner will join him in Norman, the first time in recent memory that two players from Washington will sign with Oklahoma.
