This is a day late, but the Sooner Men's Tennis Team won their match on Tuesday over Texas A&M at Headington Family Tennis Center. The Sooners won their match with the Aggies 5-2. After I posted the original article on Tuesday morning, I guess this week's ITA Tennis Rating were released. In those rankings, the Sooners had moved up to #11 and A&M had moved up to #8. The Sooner win over A&M was a good win by the Sooners.

OU won the Doubles points with wins at #2 and #3. Match #1 was unfinished. Then in the singles play, The Sooners and A&M split the first four matches to be completed to make the score 3-2 in favor of Oklahoma. OU won matches #1 and #2 while A&M won matches #6 and #3. The Sooners won the last two remaining matches at #4 and #5 to created the final 5-2 score with Oklahoma on top.

Here is the article by Sooner staff writers about the win over A&M.

Congrats to the Sooners on their excellent win.

The Sooners are back in action on Friday and Sunday at Headington Family Tennis Series as the Sooners play #31 Baylor on Friday, April 5 at 6 p.m. in the final Friday Night Lights match of the season. OU then faces #5 Texas at home the following Sunday, April 7 at 1 p.m.

Oklahoma currently is in a 1st place Tie with Texas with 4-0 records. On Friday Texas plays at #31 OSU. Baylor and OSU are both 2-2 in big 12 play this season. Sunday's match could be a very important match for the Sooners as they play for 1st place.
