Saturday was also the first Men's Gymnastics meet for the Sooner Men. The action included the #1 Stanford Cardinals, the #4 Nebraska Cornhuskers and the #10 Air Force Academy, an ACT affiliate team from Arizona State along with the #3 Oklahoma Sooners.
Here is the pre-event article as a lead up to the action:

The event itself, was a big success for the Sooner Men Gymnasts. The Sooners won the event with a score of 407.700. Stanford finished 2nd with a 407.500. Nebraska finished 3rd with a 404.350. Air Force had a 323.250 for 4th and the Arizona State squad had a score of 375.900.
The Sooners had Team Device totals and Individual high of:
Still Rings: 67.250 - 2nd Place (Fuzzy Benas (FR) 14.200)
Vault: 71.050 - 1st Place on the Event (Zach Nunez (SO) 14.450 Career High)
Parallel Bars: 67.300 - 2nd Place (Benas 14.150)
High Bar: 67.750 - 1st Place on the Event (Vitaliy Guimaraes (SR) 13.700)

In the All-Around Event, OU took the top 3 places in the meet:
1st Place: Fuzzy Benas (FR) 83.800
2nd Place: Zach Nunez (SO) 81.700
3rd Place: Raydel Gamboa (FR) 80.600
It sounds like to me that the Sooners had a very good opening meet and that 2 of the freshman did very well in the initial competition.

The Sooners return to the floor next weekend (Saturday) with a familiar opponent when Air Force travels to Norman for OU's home opener at McCasland Field House. The meet is set for a 7 p.m. CT start and can be seen live on SoonerSports.tv.
