Please tell me that softball isn't gonna get contaminated with the NIL disease! I'm not saying that it is, but it has to be on someone's radar of bidding for the best players.
Riley Zache C/UT - RH B/T
South Bend, IN (St. Joe High) - Tennessee MOJO - Ramsey/Fisher
I found this interesting. Riley and Berkley actually live in Niles, MI, just across the border from South Bend. They actually cross state lines to go to high...
This commitment is a big one for the Sooners from the 2023 Class. The Sooners have been recruiting her strongly for probably two years when they could actually make contact due to COVID. A...

She seems very calm and relaxed, mature beyond her age. Could be a leader, a captain type. At least at this point.
In today's games at the WCWS is the first set of elimination games. In the first game from the top half of the bracket will be Alabama playing Duke with the Blue Devils being the home team a6 6PM. The second game will be Stanford against Oklahoma...

KG is sooooo obsessed with OU/Patty, and to a lesser extent, texas, so they weren’t nearly as prepared as they were when they took series from OU and texas. That’s why I will be interested in seeing how O-stank will survive in Big12 without their...
I'm thinking May? But she has been lights out as a reliever. Would we start Kelly/Deal and then bring in May maybe?

I agree I think we probably start Maxwell. I like what Tropical brought up about Keeney. I think the good part is that UCLA isn't familiar with Maxwell from what I remember - so that should bode well for us I think. I also believe Kelly hasn't been...
The Oklahoma Sooners bats were very much on display on Thursday afternoon against Duke as they powered the Sooners to a 9-1 win in run-rule fashion with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th on a Alyssa Brito 2-RBI single. The Sooners picked up 11 hits...

Great write-up - one small nit that might be important to someone - the Florida Texas game Saturday night is on espn, not abc.
You are right, my mistake. I thought both games would be on ESPN.
I truly am not trying to pile on the Huskies in any way. I am actually worried that this is a tale of the portal and what unrestricted player movement can cause. That and conference realignment being a norm most years rather than a once in a couple...

I'm not sure that it's so much any kind of systemic issue within the program myself. But there are some curious events that seemed to have convergence.
I do think the pending doom of joining the B1G and the huge travel issues were a motivating...
The first thing to discuss is the weather. I think that all the games might get played today. If they get started by Noon or 1 PM, at least three games will likely get played. ESPN really wants that Texas-Stanford game to be played in prime time...

Here is a recap of the three other games played on Thursday. The weather gave everyone a break as the rain was over by 11:30-ish and the four games were played relatively quickly to get all four games played, Here is what I thought about each game...
I'm working and not able to watch. It is the top of the 2nd and Duke just homered :(. 1-0 Duke.
It seemed a little bumpy at times but Maxwell gets out of the inning. Going to the bottom of the 2nd with Duke leading 1-0.
Left 2 on base in the bottom...

Thanks SoonerGirl1201 for starting the game thread
For me, there are two themes about the WCWS today, Wednesday, the day before the WCWS starts on Thursday with a rainy forecasts for the first two days of the WCWS.
#1 - The weather looks a bit ominous for Thursday so the schedule could become very...

Pumping optimism, Not the bookies :
2024 Women's College World Series odds:
Oklahoma (-170)
Texas (+400)
Oklahoma State (+1200)
Florida (+1200)
UCLA (+1200)
Stanford (+1600)
Duke (+3000)
Alabama (+4000)
At least we aren't hearing more complaints/moaning like we did this time last year. That is the only benefit of texas pumping I suppose. But leave it to Mike to bring it back...
I'm sure we'll hear this all WCWS (especially if we win it all)....

We’ve played football championship games against Miami in Miami, and against LSU in New Orleans.
We played a basketball championship game against Kansas in Kansas City. Nobody shed any tears for OU then.
Let's just win. That simplifies things.
All the teams in this year's World Series belong here. Pre-season, I had high expectations for Senior laden teams like Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, and of course, the Sooners. But Alabama was able to beat...
Today I checked Patty's follows on twitter and found she has recently followed her first/only 2026 recruit:
Addison Rackley, @AddieRack48 on twitter. She is a RHP/Utility from Georgia and plays for Georgia Impact Taylor travel ball team. 7th Ranked...

Rackley looks like a fine prospect - and getting many offers from some top notch programs means something about her quality as an athlete. IF OU offers, she must have something special.
As Believer indicates, I'd like to see interest from Smith...
Who are your favorites to be the last 8 teams standing that will wind up in OKC at the WCWS???
Who will be upset?
Who is your Cinderella Team?
Who will wind up taking all the marbles??
Is there a particular Pitcher who you DON'T want to face??...

ESPN cares about Eyeballs more than Softballs for sure. Texas is a huge market (along with Cali and Fla). Not surprised at the hype and extra attention for potential big ad revenue. Hope it puts a chip squarely on the Sooner ladies' shoulders!
My thinking kind of mirrors yours SG....
and I'll go with Florida just because I want OSU to just go away.
Also, I think one of the west coast teams will wind up against us in the finals--just don't know which one.
Assuming OU and Stanford are on...
