Re: Alabama
I believe that Bama's Magic is gone because NIL took what Saban did "under the table" and put it smack dab on top of the table...right in the middle where all teams, that so desired and capable, could participate. The portal is now the dirtly lil under-the-table mode of operation. Poaching...

Re: Listening to Game Day this morning...
Until the non-playoff "bowl" cities and TV stations start losing money, bowls will be scheduled. So until enuff people feel the games are not worth attending and not worth viewing, don't plan on any reductions. Bowls are and always have been MONEY DRIVEN.....not competition driven!

Re: This is Where We Are?
What I've heard that I did not like is the players would not have to take classes. They are playing football to improve their skills and make the NFL. This leads to the problem of having several 1000 playing college football but only a few percent make it on a pro team. What do we do with the rest?...

Re: HOW ABOUT...that CEE DEE LAMB?!?!?
Cee Dee was a beast Sat. night....13 of 17 targets for 227 yards and a touchdown!
Cee Dee set two Dallas Cowboy franchise records. He passed Michael Irvin, who was there, for receptions (122) and receiving yards (1,651) in a single season. Irvin caught 111 passes for 1,603 yards in 1995.

Re: Why Is Farooq Playing?
LR left a criminally weak roster bordering on coaching malpractice. More disturbing was LR stealing of much of what remained of the high star OU roster and committed recruits. That said, none of the above made OU not even see what Hicks could do, start Sawchuck earlier after getting healthy or give...

Re: Why Is Farooq Playing?
5 years to rebuild was once not unreasonable. That was before Portal and NIL Now it is 1 or 2 years if the coach is savvy. Look at first year coach at TCU last year or in the second year with Debore at WA, Lanning at Oregon or Brohm at Louisville. The honeymoon and patience time to take a team to t...

That is my belief as well....BUT.....Cayden's dad was free to go a "bag" hunting before Cayden entered the portal. And that is a problem, if you ask me!UtahSooner83 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 9:08 pm I don’t believe the school is allowed to reach out to the player. It Hass to be initiated by the player.

Re: This is Where We Are?
Bowl games have always been about money! Hell, even college football is about money now. With the present "opt-out" mentality, I believe the bowls will start losing money and the demise of the bowls will continue until things look more like the Div II playoff scenario. NCAA appears to be g...

Re: OKLAHOMA vs. AZ in ALAMO BOWL: Game Thread...
Speaking of Clemson.....I hated their cemetery of the defeated.....and I thought the "stabbing of OU footballs" bordered on, if not worse, than Clemson's. In fact, I looked at the Zona's turnover celebration action to be on the childish side of life. I did notice that the footballs all car...

Re: FSU to the BIG???
The vote for OU and UT was 14-0. I'm sure Sankey was the driving force because he realizes that this all about money. The vote was 14-0 when aTm clearly was against Texas joining. It is clearly about money. And, it appears, being in the SEC is about toeing the company line. Yup, the aggies were def...

Re: Missouri
Looking back at 2023's Missouri recruiting class, they had a ranking of ~32 with 4-4* recruited and 4-4* portaled. They did do pretty good in this year's SEC, 10-2, so they must be doing something right. Now the way they all of sudden could recruit 5* athletes, kinda reminds me of aTm....and we all...
