Re: Game 1 vs Texas - Thoughts?
I could see Deal pitch if texsa has trouble with lefties. Maxwell IS the best OU pitcher. I would guess May starts tonight. Personally, I worry about May giving up walks and HRs - either could give texsa enough to win if OU is not hitting. texsa played like texsa with several errors, but they got lu...

Re: You Fill In the Blank ?
Those of us over 70, will ALWAYS HATE the nasty leprechauns of ND. Besides the 1957 upset win that stopped the streak, they have had an uncanny ability to schedule OU during down periods in OU football and never during down periods in ND football. texsa is #1 and will always be so. okie lite is a jo...

Re: Additional Softball Series of Interest this Weekend 3-28
With the Pokes' win today (3-0) at Stillwater, the Horns and Pokes are tied in the conference standings at 9-3 apiece, OU is 12-0 entering the 3 game series next Friday in Austin. Of course, I'd LOVE to sweep the series in Austin, but dropping one of the 3 would not be too damaging to our season, b...

Re: OU's Emerging Team Identity?
2023 WAS the defensive year for the Sooners. While the ERA and fielding% were both the best of the four years, there were also several plays that were made that were beyond statistics. Coleman had more than one HR-rob and several throw outs. Grace Lyons with the best SS play ever turning hits into o...

Re: OU's Emerging Team Identity?
From the terms tossed out, I think "complete" is quite good. The 2024 team is scoring close to the 22 team (more than a run per game better than the 23 team, but 1.1 worse than the powerhouse 2021 team). It has a better BA and slugging % than 22 (and 23, which had the lowest of the 4 years...

Re: My Quick Take on our Games With the Baylor Bears
OU is great with 2 outs. Great at big rallies. My point remains - a simple fly ball scores a runner from third. It is not one game, but several with that happening. If there is a site with stats on scoring with a runner on 3rd and less than two outs, I would like to see it. With so many power hitter...

Re: My Quick Take on our Games With the Baylor Bears
Twice this game and too many times in the last two weeks, the Sooners have failed to bring home a runner from third with one out. Just needed a flyball to get those runs in. Against better teams in the future, those opportunities lost could ruin us. For a clutch HITTING team (often with two outs), i...

Hansen is "day to day" and it looked like Ludlam hurt her hand.
JUST in case, do we have anyone else as emergency catcher? Can Cyd or Parker, maybe Torres?

Word has been that Blaylock is tight with D Murray.
All the tOSU interview talk after Murray's "Yamaha" might have been misplaced. It might be that Blaylock told Murray he will announce for OU. We shall see....

Re: Sooner Softball: 2 Wins and a Big Hello from Cyd Sanders - 3 HRs
Very nice summaries. I hope Sanders IS emerging as the hitter she was as a freshman. Last year was clearly the "sophomore slump" in both the figurative and literal sense. If she gets rolling and Parker and Pickering keep on as Frosh, the future will have some established hitters and this s...

When I first saw that, I was shocked. Not by the 297, but the 279 when the recruiting sites showed him at 300 lbs or higher.
No matter, his film as great. He has a motor and he is working and fitting in as a fine Sooner!

Re: Softball: Conference Series I will be monitoring this weekend
Houston box score is "efficient" - 7 hits, 3 BB, and 2 texsa errors and they score 12. Even with 4 HRs, that's amazing.

Re: Game 2 in Love's Field - OU 8 - Liberty 0 FINAL (5 innings)
Maxwell seems to be the Sooners best pitcher. It looks like OU should run out several pitchers a game to keep the other teams off balance - as long as the pitchers throw strikes. Besides the hits, May and Keeney gave up a lot of walks in game 1. Glad we do not play Miami, O again in the series. Thei...

Re: Game 1 in Love's Field - OU 9 - Miami OH 7 FINAL
The Sooners won, which IS the most important thing. Watching the top of the 7th before any pitches, I remarked and worried that they had seen Keeney and it might be smart to bring in another pitcher to make them have to figure her out in only one inning. I hope this game leads to some critical think...
