Fabulous Freshwomen! They deserve all the accolades! Pickering and Parker does have a certain Ring(s) to it!
It made me reflect on Tiare Jennings frosh season and how amazing it was, too.

Re: Kierston Deal Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for Tulsa/Houston
KD seems to have reached another level lately. Good for her! From what I could parse as to why, it is that she stopped trying so hard to be perfect....and started being a pitcher instead.

I am so hoping everything gels for the team going down the stretch!

Re: Food for Thought: LOB for the Sooners in 2024
That all makes sense, '56! Thank you for putting in terms that are easy to understand. All the indicators that positively influence the LOB% favor the Sooners. It also makes sense that if the other team has only one base runner, and she scores, they have no runners left on base for a perfect LOB%......

Re: Food for Thought: LOB for the Sooners in 2024
Thank you '56 and Sooner Girl for your stats and thoughts about the stats. You certainly answered my questions and expressed my thoughts about the LOB "issue" for OU. I thrive on the dialogue between my own perceptions (often biased and based on what I Want to be happening rather than what...

Re: OU Sooners Host Houston in 3-Game Series @ Love's Field: F, S, S
Not being glib....but can anyone make the connection between spiritualism, analytics and statistics in softball? Not being glib...is there a connection between a player's or team's spiritualism and their OPS, BA, ERA, or Slug%? Are spiritual teams more successful than non-spiritual teams? How would ...

Re: Houston Game 1: Beginning of a Sooner Surge?
After Game 2.... ....It seems like the team has some things figured out a little better. Sounded like we played with more energy and focus (on the field and in the dugout). It showed in the hot start on defense and offense, and several clutch plays. Defense and pitching was solid again. Hitting/scor...

Houston Game 1: Beginning of a Sooner Surge?
I listened to the game on the radio, however, I missed the first three innings. I was glad when I tuned in that the Sooners already had a lead and were holding the Cougars to zero. (The last couple weeks had me a bit anxious to jump in the middle of a game and hear the squad was behind. In the past,...

Re: ICYMI -- UCLA and Stanford
I can see why there was controversy! To my eyes, the catcher set up parallel to the infield edge of the baseline and in no way was completely blocking the runner's path to the plate. The catcher's back foot looked to be in front of the front of the plate and not between the runner and the plate. Tha...

Re: Upcoming OU vs OSU Clash
It works this way for me in my mind with any team OU is facing from here on out: 1.) It is about OU being the best OU can be, and not about the opponent's record, past scores, stats versus this or that, etc. We can beat any team. We can lose to any team. Depends on the OU team that comes to play...a...

Re: Youngsters taking batting practice under the lights at Love's Field
Effortless Power is the impression I got from the Miloy and Hutchins batting videos. Whoa! Knocked it OUT of the stadium several times - and one blast by Hutchins was off the scoreboard that Plank said would likely never be hit. Incredible!

Re: BYU outplays Sooners in 3 phases and wins 9-4 - OU loses 3 of 5
Thank you for the write-up, '56! This game felt so much like Lousiana Reduex to me. Very similar vibe and results. Saying, "It is still possible to be a very good team," speaks to me about a couple of things: * It is hard to imagine such a statement being made about OU this year....that OU...

Re: The Wichita State Mess
Just like Coach Gasso to plan ahead.....to a rocky 2025. Ha! Just kidding!!! OU needs to finish out this year as strong as they can, and worry about the future....in the future, IMO. The way I see it, this year is a monumental moment with Softball History holding its breath to see if the Sooners can...

Re: Let's see if losing is a motivator to 3x NCs
In Coach's post-game interview with Plank on the radio, Patty was audibly frustrated with the no-show of the offense from the 2nd inning on. She even commented that she was still emotional about it. Coach is not complacent about anything - and she accused the team of being too "oh well" ab...
