Re: Bracketology
Interesting that Texas* will be matched up with Texas A&M in the Supers, assuming they both win their Regionals. OU gets Florida St. under the same scenario. I wasn't sure Fl St would make the top 16, and Bama wound up a notch higher than I thought. But I like the FSU matchup equally well. I'm ...

I actually think we get Bama for our Super Regional.
Ratings would be off the charts.

Re: I've been thinking it but haven't said it yet.....
The move to Love's Field, especially in the middle of our record hitting streak, and the fact we couldn't practice, dress nor shower at Love's, combined with the fact that our hitting was anemic(for us) already, was too much to deal with, and we caved in. So glad we now appear to be on the rebound!...

Re: Press Conferences
Perhaps Mike White figured out all he was doing was riling up his hated rivals team and fan base and he wasn't getting any milage out of his own fan base. Unlike Kenny G who just can't seem to let things go. He even won the series with us.....and he still can't let it go. Unfortunately, Kenny G has ...

Re: Help me get this straight
I remember this discussion in '22 when we won the regular season and OSU beat us 3-2 to win the tournament. There is a trophy for each and the tournament winner gets the auto-bid. You are correct SG. And both teams get rings and acknowledged at halftime at one of the fall football games. (Just like...

Keeney and Maxwell do seem like the best choices available for tonight's matchup with Tejas. I like that Karlie can consistently get the batter to hit into ground outs. But once in awhile one of those ground balls finds a hole in the infield, and after a walk or two could be costly in a low scoring ...

I also think Deal gets the call today. And for whatever reason, it does seem that May is better than Deal coming out of the pen. But she's done that for years now, with a good deal of success. I could also see SJ getting a few pitches in if necessary as she would be one pitcher they might not have p...

Re: Big 12 Softball Tourney Thoughts: Play-In & Seeded Games W & TH
Just a reminder about the first game on the schedule for today's tournament--the BYU vs OSU game that starts at 11:00am. The BYU coach was famous (with OU at least) for his stalling and delaying tactics and our game with them ran 3 hr and 7 min. And that was a 7 inning game. BYU has shown it can hit...

I think our 2 freshmen might be our best players right now They're confident, young and hungry for success, not worried about their entering the Brave New World, and not feeling like they have done it all, either...and yes, talented! This is exactly what I was saying in another thread---and you sai...

Re: The Elephant in the Room
Thinking back 2 1/2 years ago when we were looking for the next pitcher to understudy w Jordy, I believe our pitcher commitment (we thought) at that time was Ella Parker--an outstanding pitcher getting ready for her Junior year in HS. Ryan Maddox was another one we were considering, I think, but whe...

The Struggle of Being a Senior
Some if not many of our 4th and 5th year players production has recently been trending down. I'm sure film and familiarity contributes to this, as well as better defensive positioning, perhaps. But the thing I'm really wondering about is if they are experiencing mental fatigue from so many years of ...

There might be one or two that hit the portal, but I don't think it will be Parker or Pickering.

For anyone hoping Texas would trip up against Tech.....not likely.
Texas has 2 on and 1 out top 5th.
They lead 19-0

Re: Bedlam game #1
The first Bedlam game is now in the books. It looks like Kenny G had a good strategy going into the game. Start one of your backup pitchers and don't give them anything to hit. If you walk 'em, fine, but don't give 'em anything to hit. Then....if your lucky....see if you can put together enough hits...

Yeah, unless she has a complete meltdown, I think it's probably Canady's to lose.oufanforever wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 5:26 pm Canady is still the favorite to me. Spaid could win it if she breaks the single season HR record. 3rd is hard to say but I don't believe an OU player can win it unless she goes on a hot streak starting this weekend.
