Re: Will Caleb Williams be a "Bust"?
Reminds me of Vince Young but not as intelligent and mature.

Buy A Coach…Get The Team
Unlimited free agency in semi-pro football (college) can theoretically result in a school paying a fortune to a top 3 coach whose players love him, and get all the top players to follow that coach. For example, let’s say a school spends $20M a year to snag a Kirby Smart and his coaching staff and sp...

Re: Why Is Farooq Playing?
I can and am disappointed in several areas and yet still have faith in BV. 2024 is year that we will see if my faith in BV is warranted because if we can all see these issues, I’m sure that an excellent coach will be even more aware. If BV is the excellent coach that we hope and think he is, he will...

Re: Why Is Farooq Playing?
LR left a criminally weak roster bordering on coaching malpractice. More disturbing was LR stealing of much of what remained of the high star OU roster and committed recruits. That said, none of the above made OU not even see what Hicks could do, start Sawchuck earlier after getting healthy or give ...

Re: Why Is Farooq Playing?
We are all big time Sooner fans. We all want BV to be successful. BV has improved the team record, culture and recruiting each year. We just have to be honest about some remaining systemic issues that unless they are remediated, OU will be stuck in mediocrity. These include: Not Optimally Utilizing ...

Re: Why Is Farooq Playing?
5 years to rebuild was once not unreasonable. That was before Portal and NIL Now it is 1 or 2 years if the coach is savvy. Look at first year coach at TCU last year or in the second year with Debore at WA, Lanning at Oregon or Brohm at Louisville. The honeymoon and patience time to take a team to th...

Why Is Farooq Playing?
Average Receiver in a Room Full Of Outstanding Receivers Poor Ball Security - Costly Game Changing Fumbles He’s a better runner than receiver but his poor ball security makes him a liability at both positions Continuing to Start Ahead Of Younger More Outstanding Receivers (like Gibson) May Driver Be...

Re: Mirror NfL Free Agency
Organized collectives can money wip players in college football. When a NFL player’s contract expires (franchise tag excepted) and they become a free agent, collectives could collude with NFL teams to do the same thing if there wasn’t something stopping them. College football needs to mirror whateve...

Re: Mirror NfL Free Agency
NFL fans are passionate.
Why are they not working with NFL teams to form collectives with businesses and wealthy individuals to stack NIL on top of team salary caps to get and keep even better players to win a Super Bowl?
Asking for a friend.

Re: Mirror NfL Free Agency
NIL caps and Salary Pool caps could or should be linked potentially. If not, why don’t we see the Dallas Cowboy fans or Dallas based companies put together millions to add to the team componsation in order to attract more all pros to the Cowboys (or any NFL team)? For example, Toyota’s USA Headquart...

Re: Mirror NfL Free Agency
The NFL rules have been legally sustainable. If the NCAA or some other entity does not fix this it will get worse and fans are going to fall away except for the top 10 -15 or so programs that can muster a $50+ M annual NIL budget annually. Even the top programs will poach each other’s players and bi...

Re: Mirror NfL Free Agency
It’s just like the NFL but without any governable structure
Folks, it’s going to get a lot worse before the NCAA or some entity fixes this current mess.

Mirror NfL Free Agency
“It’s not that I think the current NIL/Portal’s methods are unsound…. I don’t see any method at all.” I will stipulate I hate NFL free agency but it is at least a process that works College football as we knew it is dead. It is currently just 3 to 5 year player duration pro football league operating...

Re: Unrestricted College Free Agency
Free agency would have torn the NFL apart but for implementation of rules, caps and limitations. College and High schools will have to try to do the same. But it will be more difficult and slower. Lawsuits can be expected to gum things up even more.
There’s always Junior High football.

Unrestricted College Free Agency
In many ways it’s more chaotic than the NFL where you can lock players in for multiple year contracts, franchise tag your most critical player and only have a single annnual open season to move. Soon, college players will form a collective and demand 60% of the gate and broadcast revenue. It has alr...
