Re: McCasland Foundation Pledges Major Gift to OU Athletics
I was wondering if the pool was still there. I finally found one article that acknowledged the existence of the pool, but said that it had long since disappeared. I know it was there in the early 80's.

Re: Oklahoma Sooners SB Arrive & Leave Kentucky with a Statement Win
One of my favorite comments was in the 4th inning, the announcers said that we hadn't swung and missed yet in the game.
This is the first game that I noticed a radar gun displayed on the screen. Bahl was mostly between 68 and 71. The Kentucky pitchers were throwing mostly in the low 60s.

Re: Day 3 in HoF Play in OKC - Sooner Softball - Nearly Perfection!
The non-call on the Alo play at second base was a good one. The rule states that the defensive team must have an opportunity to field the ball. That happened when the pitcher redirected the ball. Interference was off the table at that point. The second baseman played it like you would expect. She ...

Re: OU WBB #4 Seed Host 2 in Norman
I think you're right about IUPUI getting tired. Near the end of the 3rd quarter, they showed their center on the bench and she looked gassed. IUPUI kept it close in the first half with their 3's. They weren't hitting them in the second half. And I'm not sure their center scored in the 3rd quarter. I ...

Re: The #1 OU Women Gymnastics is at the Big 12 Championship!
One thing different about this meet is that each event had four judges instead of the normal 2. Our event order was beam, floor, vault, and bars. As a team, we took first in Vault, Bars, and Floor. We took second to Denver on Beam. We didn't have anyone competing in the All Around. On vault, Olivia ...

Re: OU Softball – Hall of Fame Tournament Preview
The Sam Houston State Bearkats are 9-15 overall. They were in the Southland Conference. Looks like this is their first year in the WAC conference. They went 19-31 last year, 14-13 in conference. I don't see any common opponents yet this year. They've played 3 games against Power 5 teams: L 13-6 ...

Re: OU Softball – Hall of Fame Tournament Preview
For Sooner connections, UCSD has an assistant coach named Shay Knighten. I think I've heard of her... And of course Houston has Kristin Vesely as head coach. Kristin was an All-American at OU and played from 2003-2006. Houston also has Lacy Waldrop as an assistant coach. Lacy was our graduate ...

Re: OU Women Gymnasts win in Arizona with a 197.625
I don't think there's a negative to not having someone in the all around. However, I think KJ will want one, at least so that gymnast can get the experience. There's a compromise though, is the same gymnast in the top 6 of every event? Or are the top 5 solid enough that it doesn't matter who the 6th ...

Supposedly the meet was live-streamed by Arizona State. I can't find a replay of it. All I have seen is the following highlights from SoonerSports.tv, which doesn't show a whole lot (and none of the beam routines): https://soonersports.com/watch/?Archive=8046 General notes from the meet. There were ...

Re: OU Softball Run-Rules Baylor in Hawaii - 12-3 in 5 innings
I don't see a problem with Donihoo's first play. I don't have a problem taking chances with no runners on base. The second play, she needed to field the ball. It was near the line, so she knew there was no backup. You can make the diving attempt if it's in left center, because the center fielder ...

Re: OU Softball - Run-Rule victory over Minnesota in Opener 9-1!
In the top of the second, with 2 outs and an 0-2 count. Bahl threw a great pitch that was called a ball. It should have been a strike and out of the inning. Bahl had a few times when she was missing the strike zone badly. I wonder if that missed call affected her, because she was a bit shaky the ...
